Sammys postponed until early next year

The Syracuse Area Music Awards, scheduled to be held November 9, have been put on hold until sometime in January or February.

After taking into account the effect that the recent terrorist attacks may have had in shifting the attention of Central New Yorkers, the Sammys board voted to postpone the Landmark Theater ceremonies to give Central New York musicians and members of the music community an extra month to submit ballots. Those ballots are available at the Syracuse New Times office, Borders, and the studios of Galaxy Communications, the radio sponsor of this year's Sammy awards.
