WRVO asks to move Watertown relay

December 11, 2001 by Scott Jameson

Watertown's WRVJ 91.7 FM may be getting a boost, and to do that will involve moving its transmitter. The station, which is a relay for Oswego-based public radio station WRVO, would see its signal increased in strength from 210 watts at 7 meters AAT to 1600 watts from 135 meters. To accomplish that the plan is to move the antenna to Route 194 near Copenhagen, on the WPBS TV 16 tower that's also home to rival public broadcaster WJNY 90.9 FM, which relays Syracuse's WCNY 91.3 FM.
