Local radio morning man Dave Smith has joined the WCNY underwriting sales staff. Smith, who was recently let go due to budget cuts from his nine-year run as host of WFBL’s morning show, is part of the team of behind the scenes personnel responsible for drumming up corporate support.
Involvement with WCNY’s public radio and television stations is not new for Smith; he was a regular on-air contributor to Hour CNY, a locally produced daily one-hour public affairs program that aired on channel 24.
Though Smith has no immediate plans to return to the microphone, don’t be surprised if you see him show up on TelAuc or an upcoming pledge drive.
