Bill Baker back on the air at Classic FM

March 1, 2002 by Scott Jameson

Syracuse morning radio veteran Bill Baker returns to the airwaves of Central New York today as midday host at Classic FM (WCNY 91.3 FM). Baker, who enjoyed a long run as afternoon and morning host at 570 WSYR and most recently at Sunny 102, takes over the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekday slot vacated by Rayna Schneider who left late last year.

Baker, a Seneca Falls native, is looking forward to his new position, saying, "I've enjoyed classical music since I was a kid, but I've never had the chance to share this love with radio listeners. Classic FM is truly an institution, and I'm honored and thrilled to join talented programmers like Don Dolloff and Bill Shedden, who continually prove that classical music can be enjoyed by everyone."

Word on the street is that Baker's longtime sidekick Bernice is still looking for work.
