Galaxy, Clear Channel to air firefighter radiothons

March 14, 2002 by Scott Jameson

Ten Syracuse radio stations are sponsoring two different radiothons over the next two days to benefit the two Manlius firefighters who died in the line of duty last week. Funds raised will go directly to the families of Timothy Lynch and John Ginocchetti.

The Clear Channel radiothon is scheduled for today from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Y94FM (WYYY), B104.7 (WBBS), Power 106.9 (WPHR), Hot 107-9 (WWHT), 570 WSYR, and SportsRadio 620 (WHEN).

Galaxy Communications' fund-raiser happens Friday morning from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m., and is a unique simulcast broadcast of TK-99 (WTKW), Sunny 102 (WZUN), K-Rock (WKRL), and WTLA/WSGO as the morning show hosts of each station come together in the same studio. Galaxy chair Ed Levine wants to help "take care of the people who need it most."
