"She is K-Rock!" With that ringing endorsement from Galaxy Communications vice president Mimi Griswold comes news that K-Rock's afternoon drive air personality Abbie Weber has been promoted to program director of the modern rock station.
Weber, who has also served as web site coordinator, promotions director, and music director, got her start at the station in 1994 fresh out of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications.
Weber says, "It truly is an overwhelming honor to have Mimi give me her thumbs up. It's one thing to have her tell me she thinks I am doing well, but this promotion is really a great endorsement from the one person who I have had as a mentor for the last eight years. I know how important K-Rock is to Mimi and to Galaxy. I am passionate about it's success!"
K-Rock broadcasts on WKRL 100.9 FM in Syracuse, WKRH 106.5 FM in Oswego, and WKLL 94.9 FM in Utica.
