Hot 107.9's recently named morning show sidekick finds her name in the headlines for a different reason. Syracuse University senior Nicole Wilcox, 21, was allegedly punched by S.U. basketball player DeShaun Williams in a barroom altercation early Wednesday morning.Wilcox, who played the role of S.U.'s mascot "Otto the Orange" for three years at various sporting events, was treated for a gash over her left eye and released from an area hospital.
As the recent winner of a contest to pick a new co-host for Dakota's morning show on Hot 107.9, Wilcox plans to begin her new job at the station next Wednesday following graduation ceremonies this weekend.
