Hot 107-9, K-Rock show biggest jumps in new trends

June 5, 2002 by Scott Jameson

In Arbitron trend numbers released today, Hot 107-9 moved from fourth to second in the rankings of number of listeners 12+ with the Clear Channel station gaining a full ratings point. 93Q was down a full point resulting in a swap in ranks for the the two contemporary hits formatted stations.K-Rock also saw a full point increase which helped give its owner, Galaxy Communications, the biggest increase as a group at 1.2 ratings points; Clear Channel and Citadel were both down about a point each as a group.

The other rock stations trended up as well with TK99/105 showing a 0.8 increase and 95X moving up 0.6.

Buckley's two stations also showed increases, although it's still too early to tell what affect WFBL's change to news-talk last month will have on its numbers in the coming months.

Trend figures are for overall listeners 12 years of age and older for all dayparts and do not necessarily indicate similar changes in the more detailed quarterly results to be released in August.
