Special programming planned for 9/11 anniversary

Most Central New York radio stations plan to memorialize and pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of one year ago with special programming today. The published schedule of events include...

  • WAER - Special programming all day including Voices of Reflection from NPR beginning at 7 a.m. and a special Fresh Air at 7 p.m.
  • WRVO Stations - Special programming all day including Voices of Reflection from NPR beginning at 8 a.m. and the Sonic Memorial Project at 11 p.m.
  • Classic FM - New Jersey Symphony: A Requiem for September 11. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Westminster Choir, with guest artists, perform Verdi's Requiem - a piece of music that has enormous meaning for a country that endured the losses of September 11.
  • Oldies 92.1 - Tribute at 8:47 a.m. including a moment of silence followed by the playing of the National Anthem. Patriotic songs featured throughout the day.
  • 93Q - A moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. with some patriotic music throughout the morning. Broadcast of President Bush's address to the nation at 9 p.m.
  • Y94FM - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • 95X - Special live interviews on Howard Stern's show followed by a replaying of his program from a year ago beginning at 8:46 a.m.. Broadcast of President Bush's address to the nation at 9 p.m.
  • 96.9 WOUR - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • KISS-FM - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • Bob 102.5 - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • B104.7 - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • Lite 105.9 - A moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. with some patriotic music throughout the morning. Broadcast of President Bush's address to the nation at 9 p.m.
  • Power 106.9 - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • Hot 107-9 - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.
  • 570 WSYR - A two-minute audio montage at 8:44 a.m. followed by a moment of silence and a message from President Bush.   • Regent Communications Utica Stations - Regent Communications is sponsoring an interfaith community observance which is open to the public and set to take place from 7-9 p.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
