'The Dog' makes its ratings debut

April 30, 2003 by Scott Jameson

The numbers are out for the Syracuse winter book and New Rock 105 (WWDG) enjoyed the biggest gain in the market. There was nowhere to go but up for 'The Dog' which switched formats around the first of the year from a simulcast of B104.7 (WBBS) to alternative rock.New Rock 105's 1.8 ratings point gain dinged K-Rock (WKRL/WKRH/WKLL) which slipped two ratings points while active rocker 95X (WAQX) dropped 1.2 points.

But the news was not all bad for Galaxy Communications which saw its other four stations move up in the 12+ numbers.

Clear Channel's Hot 107-9 (WWHT) and Y94FM (WYYY) just about swapped ratings with a 1.2 swing in each direction with Hot on the up side.

Increases for Lite 105.9 (WLTI) and Sunny 102.1 (WZUN) came at the expense of Y94FM's dip along with a leveling off for Oldies 92.1 (WSEN).

Meanwhile, at the top, B104.7 (WBBS), 570 WSYR, and 93Q (WNTQ) all held their positions despite some erosion in numbers.

Numbers are for listeners 12+ for all dayparts and are not necessarily an indicator of rankings in key sales demographics.
