'Big Mike' releases ninth holiday CD

December 5, 2003 by Scott Jameson

Sunny 102 (WZUN) morning man 'Big Mike' Fiss has once again put together a holiday CD featuring local talent, but this year's offering has a twist. Instead of relying on his standard crop of local artists, Fiss decided to turn to area teens.

Big Mike's Christmastime in Syracuse Volume 9... Our Schools brings together 17 area high school choruses and the Colgate 13 from Colgate University, who, beginning in October, gathered at Music Mania in Baldwinsville to record 18 songs, everything from "Amazing Grace" to "Santa Baby."The CDs, which were co-produced by Todd Hobin, are available at all area Wegmans for $6. All proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Central New York, a charity for which Fiss's efforts over the years have raised nearly $100,000.
