Syracuse fall ratings released

January 27, 2005 by Scott Jameson

B104.7 (WBBS) is once again the ratings king in Syracuse. By an almost 5 point margin, the Clear Channel country station came in way ahead of the pack with a 12.6 rating.

Clear Channel stations overall did well, taking the top four slots in the rankings.

It was a tough book for the Citadel group with 93Q (WNTQ) taking the biggest hit by sliding from second to fifth place in the overall 12+ numbers.95X (WAQX) is also down two ratings points from a year ago. Those numbers do not yet reflect the decision of Citadel Communications to drop Howard Stern's syndicated morning show from the active rock station.

The November elections seem to have given the local news-talk outlets a boost. Both 570 WSYR and Talk Radio 1390 (WFBL) saw increases. WFBL had its best ratings yet since switching formats to news-talk more than a year ago.

Ratings and numbers are for listeners 12+ in all dayparts and are not necessarily indictive of key sales demographics.
