The National Association of Broadcasters says Newsradio 570 WSYR is among the 50 finalists for the 2008 Crystal Radio Awards.  The awards recognize stations for their committment to community service.  We’ll find out of WSYR is one of the ten winners next month.All 50 finalist stations will be recognized – and the ten winners will be revealed – at the NAB Show’s radio luncheon, on April 15 in Las Vegas.

In order to enter the Crystal Radio Awards competition, stations must submit a very detailed application, documenting their community service efforts throughout the course of the previous year.  The only other station in New York State to be named a finalist this year is WSYR’s Albany news/talk sister station, WGY.
