Teams Wanted for Kickball Tournament

April 12, 2008 by CNYRadio.com

Clear Channel Syracuse is now accepting team registrations for the 3rd Annual Bill Leaf Kickball Tournament.  Leaf was working as a reporter for Newsradio 570 WSYR, and a part-time sportscaster for WTVH-TV, when he was killed by a drunk driver in 2006.  This year's tournament will take place on Saturday, May 17th at Onondaga Lake Park.

Money raised from the event benefits Syracuse University's Central New York Alumni Scholarship Fund, to help support an annual journalism scholarship named in Bill's honor.

Registration is $25 per person.  Teams must have at least 8 people, including at least 4 women -- but there is no limit to how large your team can be.  Players must be at least 16 years old.  In addition to a great day of fun, there is live music, food catered by Carraba's Italian Grill, prizes, and everyone gets a free T-shirt.

Team registrations are due by May 2.  Clear Channel sent us a registration form (PDF) so you can print one, fill it out, and mail it in.  If you have any other questions, e-mail eventplanning@clearchannel.com or call (315) 472-9797 and ask for Jim Lerch or Ashley Anderson.
