New Citadel Manager Coming from Albany

April 26, 2008 by CNYRadio.com

Citadel Syracuse's new Market Manager is coming from Albany, according to an article published Friday by the Albany Business Review.  Dan Austin -- who calls Syracuse his hometown -- will begin in Syracuse on May 12.

The Biz Review article says Austin just resigned from his job at Albany Broadcasting (technically, Pamal Broadcasting).  He worked there for 7 years, the last three as General Manager.  According to Arbitron ratings posted at R&R, Pamal stations currently hold three of the top 5 slots in Albany, persons 12+.  The Biz Review article quotes Austin as saying he's excited to return to his hometown.

In Syracuse, Citadel owns four stations: 93Q (WNTQ 93.1); 95X (WAQX 95.7); Lite Rock 105.9 (WLTI); and ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS).  The last time Arbitron released Syracuse's P12+ ratings to the public, following the Fall 2006 survey, WNTQ was the only station in the top 5.
