B104.7 and Morning Show Nominated for CMAs

September 10, 2008 by CNYRadio.com

Syracuse's B104.7 (WBBS) has been nominated in both of the broadcast award categories for the 2008 Country Music Awards.  The station is up for one award, and morning co-hosts Ron Bee and Becky Palmer are up for their own award.

The Country Music Association says WBBS is nominated for "Station of the Year" in the Medium Market level.  Competition includes stations from Kansas, California, Tennessee and the much closer Buffalo-Niagara Falls market.

Longtime morning show co-hosts Ron Bee and Becky Palmer are being considered for "Broadcast Personality of the Year."  This isn't the duo's first time getting the nomination.  And earlier this year, they were nominated for a similar award from the Academy of Country Music.

National Awards
At the national level, syndicated host Lon Helton is nominated for Personality of the Year, as are the duo of Crook & Chase.  Helton's "CMT Country Countdown USA" is carried by Big Frog 104 (WFRG) in Utica.  "The Crook & Chase Countdown" is carried by Bug Country (WBGK), also in Utica.

Winner Timeline
Winners will be notified in mid-October.  They'll be acknowledged during "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards" telecast on ABC television, Wednesday, November 12 from 8-11pm.
