WSEN Knocked Out by Storms

September 16, 2008 by CNYRadio.com

The vicious wind storms that left more than 140,000 Central New Yorkers without power also took WSEN off the air for roughly 12 hours Monday.

Thanks to some CNYRadio.com readers who reported the outage on Monday.  When we finally had a chance to tune in, the station was already back on the air.  A quick call to the request line allowed us to learn the station was off-air from about 2am to 2pm Monday.

The WSEN blackout is no big surprise: according to National Grid's outage website, the Baldwinsville area was hit pretty hard by the storms.  As of this writing, more than 3,000 people are still without power in Onondaga County, about 500 total in the Village of Baldwinsville itself, and the Towns of Lysander and Van Buren.
