Playground Radiothon Raises $20K

SYRACUSE — A radiothon to rebuild a burned-down city school playground yesterday raised “at least $20,000,” according to Newsradio 570 WSYR.  The radiothon started with WSYR host Joe Galuski at 6am and ran through the conclusion of the Jim Reith show at 7pm.  Yesterday’s effort covers about a third of what was spent when the playground at Van Duyn Elementary was originally built in 1995.
