WRVO Seeks Senior News Reporter/Producer

November 25, 2009 by CNYRadio.com

OSWEGO -- Nearly 3 months after longtime News Director Chris Ulanowski exited WRVO, the NPR affiliate now has a job opening for a position that appears to be his replacement, but -- at least in title -- it isn't quite the same job.  Rather than seeking a News Director, the station has announced the search for a "Senior News Reporter/Producer."

Program Director Fred Vigeant tells CNYRadio.com you can read more about the job on WRVO's website.  The page lists all the duties of the job, along with all the qualifications sought of candidates.  The station will begin reviewing applications on December 7, and the search "will continue until the position is filled."

When we curiously asked why the station chose to go with this title, rather than the more traditional "News Director," he did not respond.

Based on the campus of SUNY Oswego, the WRVO Stations also include WRVN/Utica, WRVJ/Watertown and WRVD/Syracuse.  Part-time repeaters exist in Cortland (WSUC) and Hamilton (WRCU).
