ONEIDA — Things are sounding a little different at WMCR-FM this morning. The station has rebranded itself as “Mix 106.” An anonymous tipster told us about the change late last night. Listening this morning, the changes appear to be minor so far.
Aside from the many references to “Mix 106,” the absence of the vintage WMCR jingles, and perhaps some subtle tweaking to the music selections, the station sounds largely the same. Morning host Todd Emanuelli remains in place, continuing to execute all the usual features like the stock market report, news updates and so forth.
The station website at www.wmcronline.com looks very much unchanged from when it first launched in July, shortly after James Johnson’s Leatherstocking Media Group purchased the stations from Vivian Warren. When we attempted to send a note to the only email address listed on the site, we received a “user unknown” error message.
