December 22, 2009 by CNYRadio.com

WATERTOWN -- Reginald James Pettiford, perhaps better known by his on-air nickname "Jimbo," has passed away.  The afternoon drive personality from Classic Hits Z93 (WCIZ) was 56 years old.  Updated 12/24 at 11am with arrangements.

An obituary on newzjunky.com says Pettiford died in his sleep on Tuesday, under the care of his wife and Hospice of Jefferson County.  Pettiford served as PD for both Z93 and sister station WTNY (790 AM).  Prior to Watertown, Jimbo worked at stations in Vermont, Saratoga Springs, Albany, Glens Falls and Pennsylvania -- including some time at Pittsburgh's WRRK.

Visitors can pay respects on Sunday, December 27th from 1-2pm at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, and a funeral service will follow at 2pm.

The family is asking for any memorial gifts to be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
