Z95.5 Contest Offers Possible Job

February 2, 2010 by CNYRadio.com

ITHACA/CORTLAND -- The latest contest from ROI Broadcasting's Z95.5 (WFIZ) is offering listeners some on-air exposure and the chance to get themselves a spot on the air staff as a "ZJ."

The contest is called "Wanna Be a ZJ" and details are posted on the Z95.5 website.  But pay close attention to the fine print:

This is a job search, but does NOT guarantee that a winner will be selected to fill a position here at Z95.5 during the promotion, "Do You Want To Be A ZJ."

We're guessing they're just covering their backs in case all the entries are bad -- so if you're confident you'd be a good on-air personality and you want to give it a shot, don't delay!  In order to get into the running, you need to submit a photo of yourself, an audio clip up to two minutes long, a brief explanation of why you want to be a ZJ, and additional information -- and it all has to be submitted by 5pm this Friday.  Again, all the details are posted on the website we've linked above.

Management will review the initial submissions over the weekend, and ten semi-finalists will be revealed on the air the following Monday morning.  Listener voting will narrow that pool down to five, management will further narrow it down to three finalists, and a second round of listener voting will determine the winner.

The winner will be invited to appear "during the morning show or a portion of it depending on the winners availability," on Monday, February 22.

Career Night

Z95.5 is also hosting a "Career Night" on February 10th.  Seating is limited to the first 20 people to pre-register by calling the station at (607)330-4848.  An e-mail blast sent out from the station to its "Z VIP" members this evening didn't specify exactly what other types of jobs would be available.
