Peace Not Disturbed... Yet

May 18, 2010 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- The new afternoon show Disturbing the Peace was supposed to debut yesterday on The New ESPN Radio (WTLA/WSGO/W249BC/W259AX).  But listeners who tuned in during the advertised 2-6pm timeslot heard ESPN network programming instead.  We checked in with Galaxy Communications management to see what happened.

According to the stations' Facebook page, the new show is still coming along -- but the debut has been pushed back to Wednesday, and the show will only air from 4:00 - 6:30pm.

Mimi Griswold, Galaxy Communications VP of Programming, tells CNYRadio.com, "we had some technical kinks to work out." She explains, "the show will start as a 2½-hour show and work its way up to the 2 to 6 slot."  She promises the show will have "loads of features," but adds, "want the show to work them in gradually rather than all at once."

As reported earlier this month, Disturbing the Peace will be co-hosted by former WAER Sports Director Chris McManus and Anthony Riccobono, former producer of crosstown competitor WSKO's On the Block with Brent Axe. They'll be joined on-air by Paulie Scibilia and producer Lauren Levine.
