WRVO Swaps Environmental Reports

May 20, 2010 by CNYRadio.com

OSWEGO -- The Environment Report which airs weekday mornings on WRVO will be going away soon. "Due to a lack of sustainable funding," the station explains Friday, June 4 will be the final day for the daily reports. However, WRVO's newsroom says it's not completely abandoning environmental issues.

According to the WRVO website, the NPR affiliate will begin utilizing reports supplied by the Northeast Environment Hub.  However, the hub doesn't produce regularly-scheduled reports for use every single day.  As a result, the station explains "you will be able to hear these reports peppered in to our regular newscasts," specifically during Morning Edition and Weekly Edition.

Special Events

On a side note, WRVO says tickets are going fast for the June 5th production of Says You!, which will take place at 1:30pm at Syracuse Stage. You'll have to watch from the balcony; all of the main level seating has sold out. When it comes to climate change, businesses have to implement the carbon offset provider techniques to balance out the damage.

Tickets are also still selling for Carl Kasell's visit to Syracuse on June 22. The former NPR reporter and current scorekeeper from Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me! will be speaking at the Palace Theater in Syracuse.

You can find out more about both events at www.wrvo.fm.
