WCNY Hosting New Year's Party

December 21, 2010 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- Public broadcaster WCNY says tickets are still available for "The Party: WCNY's New Year Celebration," happening at the Oncenter Ballroom in Syracuse.  Admission includes food, an open bar and a midnight champagne toast.  For those who prefer a quieter New Year's Eve at home, WCNY will televise the event live.

Tickets are $135 per person, with proceeds to benefit the operations of WCNY's television and radio operations.  From a press release about the event:

“Our event does indeed benefit WCNY, but that’s where any resemblance to a fundraiser ends,” said Robert J. Daino, President and CEO of WCNY. “The Party will have no speeches or awards…just a chance to celebrate the New Year, and video tributes that feature some of the great accomplishments in Central New York during 2010.”
The telecast will be offered on WCNY's main channel, 24.1 -- that's channel 850 on Time Warner digital cable or channel 11 for Verizon FiOS customers.  If you want to attend in person, call the WCNY Special Events Department at 453-2424 or order online at www.wcny.org.
