Mars Hill Offers Networking to Christians in Media

February 3, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- The Mars Hill Network, based in Syracuse with flagship station WMHR, hosted its second "Christian Professional Media Alliance" meeting last week in Liverpool.  Mars Hill says it hopes the group will facilitate networking among Christians who work in the media.

The following press release was issued from the CPMA:

Central New York’s “Christian Professional Media Alliance” (CPMA) hosted its second Syracuse area meeting on Thursday, January 27 in Liverpool.

Cathy Fida founder and CEO of the Good News Paper presented a “Media Focus” report on the Syracuse based Christian newspaper publication. Guest speaker was Pastor Robert Foote of Trinity Lutheran Church of Ithaca, NY. Pastor Foote before his entering seminary, had been involved with various radio station outlets as an announcer and operator and currently contributes to a pastor’s radio feature heard over the Mars Hill Network. His subject was taken from the book of Jonah, and the importance of reaching into a post-Christian culture with the life changing message of the gospel.

Part of the mission of Central New York's Christian Media Alliance is to promote Christian fellowship between professionals in the communications media, i.e. Radio/TV/Print/Internet. The next CPMA breakfast meeting will be on Thursday, April 14-7:23am at Denny’s on 7th North Street in Liverpool. For further information visit www.cpma.us or call 315-469-5051.

Yes, that time -- 7:23am -- is correct.  The CPMA's website prominently displays the Bible quotation, "And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me," which comes from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 7, verse 23 -- or as it's more commonly written in shorthand, Luke 7:23.
