K-Rock Unveils 2011 Dysfunctional Family BBQ Lineup

SYRACUSE — A local opener and seven national recording artists are on the bill for the 5th annual Dysfunctional Family BBQ.  The concert, hosted by K-Rock (WKRL/WKRH/WKLL) will take place on May 28 at the New York State Fairgrounds near Syracuse.  Tickets go on sale this Saturday.

Doors open at 11am and local band Elephant Mountain will take the stage at Chevrolet Court at noon.  They’ll be followed by Hourcast, Drive A, Kopek, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, Boy Hits Car, 10 Years and Trapt.

K-Rock PD Nixon tells, “DFB has become THE party to welcome summer to Central New York.  This year is no different with a huge lineup and a super cheap ticket price of  15 bucks for 8 bands!”

Some fans will actually get in cheaper — Nixon says “a limited number” of $10 tickets will go on sale Saturday morning, “while supplies last” at select NAPA stores, Bodified in Oswego, Comix Zone in North Syracuse, Big Apple Music in New Hartford, and online at  Once the $10 tickets are gone, the price goes to $15.

K-Rock is made of three stations: 100.9 (WKRL/North Syracuse) and 106.5 (WKRH/Minetto) in the Syracuse market and 94.9 (WKLL/Frankfort) in the Utica/Rome market.
