Syracuse Flooding Hits Clear Channel Parking Garage

April 26, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- Nearly two inches of rainfall today in Syracuse caused problems all over the area.  Part of I-81 in Syracuse was shut down after a few feet of water clogged the road.  And Ronnie Miller from the morning show at Y94FM (WYYY) captured video of water pouring into the parking garage next to the cluster's Bridgewater Place studios.

Miller's video was featured prominently by ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) during the early evening newscasts.  At one point during the 90-minute newscast, Miller gave a phone interview to anchors Rod Wood and Carrie Lazarus.

Clear Channel occupies space within 500 Plum Street, also known as Bridgewater Place.  The building is located immediately next to Onondaga Creek -- in fact, visitors and employees entering from Plum Street must walk a pedestrian bridge over the creek.  Clear Channel and other tenants of the building share the adjoining garage.

It wasn't immediately clear whether there was any serious damage within the garage.
