June 23, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- This morning's intense storms are to blame for taking ESPN Radio 97.7 and 100.1 off the air for much of Thursday.  (Updated Friday 6/24 at 8:00am -- the stations are back on the air.)

According to PD Chris McManus, the severe weather damaged transmission equipment at approximately 7:15 this morning.  "The Galaxy engineering staff is currently repairing equipment at the transmitter site, and the stations should be back on the air tonight," McManus said, in a written statement issued late this afternoon.

ESPN Radio consists of FM translators 97.7 (W249BC/Mattydale) and 100.1 (W261AC/Oswego), along with AM stations WTLA and WSGO.
