Ex-YNN Anchor Tammy Palmer Resurfaces at WSYR-TV

July 1, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- The newest face on the news team at NewsChannel 9 is actually a familiar face, both to the ABC affiliate and to local viewers. Tammy Palmer recently made the jump back to broadcast television, after a few years anchoring at Time Warner Cable's YNN.

Thanks to an anonymous CNYTVNews.com reader who contacted us after spotting Palmer on channel 9 Thursday night, doing a live hit from Oswego County during the 5:30pm newscast. Although Palmer's not yet listed among the "news team bios" on the station's website, we did find video of Thursday night's live report.

According to her old profile on YNN's website, Palmer worked for channel 9 several years ago, when it was WIXT-TV, as "a producer for the investigative unit." She then moved onto sister station WWTI in Watertown, where she made her on-camera debut, first as a reporter, then as anchor. Palmer was one of the original anchors of News 10 Now when it launched in 2003, and remained on-board after News 10 Now and sister station Capital News 9 consolidated their anchor teams at the latter's Albany-area studios.
