Utica Ratings: Big Frog 104 Maintains #1 Position

July 26, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

UTICA/ROME -- Townsquare Media's country Big Frog 104 (WFRG) retained its reputation as the ratings leader in the latest audience estimates released by Eastlan Ratings. Townsquare's other three stations followed right behind, creating a bit of a shakeup in the market, compared to the Fall 2010 book.

Adult contemporary Lite 98.7 (WLZW) gained nearly three points to reach a 9.8, rebounding in ranking from #5 to #2. Even though news/talker WIBX 950 lost a little more than half a point, the station's 9.0 rating is enough to hold onto third place. Then it's a notable drop down to 6.8, where Oldiez 96.1 (WODZ) checks in. That's still an improvement, compared to WODZ's last three Eastlan books.

Galaxy heritage classic rocker 96.9 WOUR rounds out the top five after dropping more than two full points since the Fall 2010 survey. Meanwhile, sister station K-Rock (WKLL) picked up some steam with a 6.2, its best book out of the last four.

Eastlan's survey shows Roser's top 40 Kiss-FM combo (WSKS/WSKU) dropping from an 8.4 to a 5.6, but things are looking better for the recently-rebranded "B95.5." The news/talk/music hybrid -- formed by a trimulcast between AM stations WUTQ and WADR, along with the station's namesake FM translator (W238CA) -- gained a full point and a half since the fall. Roser's Bug Country (WBGK/WBUG) also posted a notable increase, posting a 2.4.
