New ABC Shows to Be Previewed at NY State Fair

August 9, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 is giving viewers the chance to voice their opinions about three new series set to debut on the ABC network lineup this fall. For three nights during the New York State Fair, fans will have a chance to preview the pilot episodes of the three new series, and provide feedback about the shows. Participants will receive a reward for their thoughts.

According to a press release from promotions director Mark Wolicki, the station will distribute one thousand surveys about the shows at each screening. Every viewer who returns a completed survey at the end of the show will receive a free souvenir.

Here's the schedule for those screenings:

  • Once Upon a Time: Monday, August 29 at 7pm - Drama described as "a modern fairytale with thrilling twists and hints of darkness," starting Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison and Jared Gilmore.
  • Last Man Standing: Tuesday, August 30 at 7pm - Sitcom starring Tim Allen of "Home Improvement" fame. As per the press release, "he may be king of the hill at work ... but he's the odd man out in a home dominated by his wife [Nancy Travis] and three daughters."
  • Suburgatory: Wednesday, August 31 at 7pm - Sitcom starring Jeremy Sisto, Jane Levy and Cheryl Hines. Sisto plays the single father who "only wants the best" for teen daughter Tessa (Levy), "so he moves them out of the big city to a house in the suburbs. All Tessa sees is the horror of over-manicured lawns and plastic Franken-moms, but being in the 'burbs may just bring her and her dad closer than they've ever been."

News anchor Carrie Lazarus will host all three of the screenings, according to the press release.
