Former News 10 Now Reporter Gets Boston Anchor Gig

October 5, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

PITTSBURGH -- Former News 10 Now reporter Jim Lokay is headed back east.  But he's going further east than Syracuse... he'll continue right along Interstate 90's eastern terminus, where he's set to take over as the morning co-anchor at Boston ABC affiliate WCVB.

Lokay's move was first reported today by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.  He's spent the last six years in Pittsburgh as CBS affiliate KDKA-TV's traffic and transportation reporter.

Lokay's TV career started at Time Warner's News 10 Now (the original name, before it became YNN), originally assigned to the Rome bureau, which at the time, was the eastern fringe of the 24/7 cable network's coverage area -- Time Warner hadn't acquired Adelphia and it's Utica-area systems yet.

Even though most Central New Yorkers may not be too familiar with TV stations in other markets across the country, chances are good you've heard of WCVB before -- that's where Syracuse native David Muir worked for three years between his first job at WTVH and his current job with ABC News.

Our best wishes to Jim Lokay; the Post-Gazette says his last day at KDKA will be October 14.
