WNYY to Flip Hartman & Schultz Timeslots

March 8, 2012 by CNYRadio.com

ITHACA/CORTLAND -- The day after we all "spring ahead" for daylight saving time, Progressive Talk 1470 WNYY will be making some clock adjustments of its own. The Saga-owned station says it's flip-flopping timeslots for two of its syndicated hosts.

Starting Monday, Thom Hartmann will take over Ed Schultz's 6-9pm timeslot. As a result, Schultz moves to Hartmann's current timeslot, noon to 3pm. The changes were announced today in an email blast to listeners.

Both shows are syndicated by Dial Global and both air live from noon to 3pm. In order for a single affiliate to carry both shows, at least one show has to be carried on delay.

WNYY provided no reason for the switch, but it's worth noting that Schultz has a live TV show on MSNBC, weeknights at 8pm. The current WNYY lineup has Schultz competing against himself for the 8pm hour but the schedule change will eliminate this conflict.

Press & Miller Get TV Simulcast

WNYY also announced that syndicated personalities Bill Press (6-9am) and Stephanie Miller (9am-noon) will soon be simulcast on cable's Current TV. The announcement says the simulcast begins "early this spring." Current TV is carried locally on Time Warner Cable's digital cable tier, as well as Verizon FiOS, DirecTV and Dish Network.
