SYRACUSE -- News/Talk 106.9 and 570 program director Jason Furst is headed south.  Not careerwise, but geographically -- to program Charlotte, North Carolina's WBT-AM and FM simulcast.

News of Furst's move comes via the national radio trade, Inside Radio.  Furst arrived at Clear Channel's Syracuse cluster in 2006 to program the former Nova 105.1 (WWDG).     But running just one station isn't something Furst would do for long: he added programming duties for 570 WSYR in 2007.

During 2008, Furst also picked up PD stripes for Sports Radio 620 WHEN and CHR Hot 107.9 (WWHT).  The sports station was cleared from Furst's plate in 2010, when Clear Channel added an FM simulcast for WSYR; in order to keep the former Power 106.9's urban AC format on the air after converting that frequency to WSYR-FM, Clear Channel moved it to 620 AM.

Last November, Clear Channel announced Furst would begin splitting his time between programming Syracuse's WSYR and Rochester's WHAM and WHTK.  Four months later, the company announced the selection of "AJ" as new program director for Hot 107.9.
