SYRACUSE -- Galaxy Communications CEO and President Ed Levine will join a select group of Syracuse University alumni next weekend, when he's inducted to the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communcations Professional Gallery. Levine and the rest of the induction class of 2012 will be honored on Saturday, November 10.

“The Newhouse School Professional Gallery has served as an inspiration to thousands of students, parents and visitors to the school,” said Dean Lorraine Branham, in a written statement. “It is a powerful example of the strength and prestige of the famed ‘Newhouse Network’—our incredible alumni, who together make up the most powerful group of communications professionals in the industry. They are truly the reason behind Newhouse’s reputation for excellence.”

"I found my career at Newhouse, my wife Pam and I met at Newhouse and my daughter recently graduated from Newhouse," Levine said. "The most important parts of my professional and personal life were all started at Newhouse so this honor means a lot to me."

Professional Gallery inductees represent people from all fields of the communications industry, who have attended Newhouse to build a foundation for their careers.  Levine was a member of the Syracuse University class of 1978.

Levine is the founder, president and CEO of Galaxy Communications. The Syracuse-based company owns a total of 14 radio stations in the Syracuse and Utica-Rome markets. The company's Galaxy Events division produces a number of major local events such as the Taste of Syracuse and Fireworks Over Central New York.
