Updated 12/2 with email address for applicants.  ITHACA -- After seven years overseeing news and programming for News/Talk 95.9 and 870 WHCU and Progressive Talk WNYY 1440, Geoff Dunn is leaving radio. Dunn has accepted a new position with Tompkins County, prompting the Cayuga Radio Group to begin accepting applications for News Director candidates at WHCU. We've got more about Dunn's accomplishments, plus the official job posting within this story.

A press release announcing Dunn's mid-December departure says Dunn has been "instrumental in guiding, developing and lifting WHCU and WNYY to new heights." Dunn, who also hosts WHCU's Morning News Watch, is credited with strengthening the stations' ties with Cornell University, and raising "the profile of the stations online and in social media."

In summary, the Saga-owned Cayuga Radio Group says Dunn "has been a terrific ambassador to our station, our company, and the news profession." His new job with Tompkins County begins in mid-December.
