Former WSYR reporter adds investigative duties with ABC News

April 30, 2013 by CNYRadio.com

NEW YORK CITY -- ABC News announced some key staffing changes this week.  Among them, former 570 WSYR news reporter Aaron Katersky, a longtime ABC News Radio correspondent, will be expanding his duties into the operation's investigative reporting unit.

Our thanks to a CNYRadio.com reader who sent a tip after spotting a blurb about Katersky's new assignment in a trade publication.  That prompted us to find the official announcement on the ABC News website.  In a memo to staff, ABC News President Ben Sherwood said of Katersky:

I’m also please to share that ABC News Radio correspondent Aaron Katersky will expand his duties to include investigative reporting.

From the Newtown shootings to Superstorm Sandy and most recently the Boston bombing, Aaron reporting has proven indispensable to our efforts and he will now formally contribute to the overall investigative output of ABC News.

Katersky, 37, is a 1997 graduate of Syracuse University.  In addition to the recent events mentioned by Sherwood, Katersky served as co-anchor of ABC News Radio's coverage of the 2010 Presidential Election.  Previous CNYRadio.com stories also documented Katersky's coverage of the Columbia space shuttle disaster in 2003, a little more than a month before he was sent with U.S. troops to cover the war in Iraq.  At the time, he was working as a reporter for Houston's KTRH.  He joined the network in 2004.
