September 11, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- Clear Channel country station B104.7 (WBBS) is once again among the nominees for the Country Music Association Awards.  This year, the station is in the running for "CMA Radio Station of the Year" in the Medium Market category.  Syndicated personalities carried by stations in Syracuse, Utica and Ithaca are also nominated.

WBBS is up against two stations from California, one from Kansas and one from the Buffalo/Niagara Falls market.  The 45th CMA Awards will be broadcast on ABC on Wednesday, November 9th.  Although broadcast category winners will be announced in a separate ceremony prior to the telecast, winners will be recognized at some point during the telecast.

Syndicated Personalities Nominated

While there were no local nominees for "CMA Broadcaster of the Year" within CNYRadio.com coverage area this year, all three of the nationally-syndicated nominees are carried by radio stations throughout the region:

  • American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks is carried by Utica's Big Frog 104 (WFRG) and Ithaca's Q-Country 103.7 (WQNY).
  • The Big D and Bubba Show is carried weekday mornings on New Country WOLF 105.1 in Syracuse.
  • Lia is carried weeknights by WFRG and WQNY.
