There was such a whirlwind of activity surrounding yesterday’s format flip news at Citadel’s Syracuse cluster … I forgot to take time to reflect on the second “re-birthday” of CNYRadio.com! February 22, 2008 was the day this site re-launched after nearly four years on hiatus. Today, a moment for thanks, and a look to the future. ROCHESTER — Have you ever considered some of the difficult situations record company reps endure in order to bring a popular artist to your radio station? Former CNY radio personality RJ Jordan recently received some national press, sharing one of his travel horror stories as a record rep. WASHINGTON — Many radio and TV stations are already taking action to provide relief for earthquake victims in Haiti, but the NAB is asking broadcasters to plan their biggest pushes for February 1st, which the organization is dubbing as “Broadcasters for Haiti Day.” Back in April, we asked you, through a multiple-choice poll, how many stations in “CNYRadio.com Land” (the 4 markets listed above in our logo) would flip formats in 2009. Today, we’re looking back to see how well you predicted — and we’re asking you to vote on your predictions for 2010.

We just checked our stats to see which stories had the most hits over the past 365 days, and we present to you now, the top 10 stories of 2009.

Plenty of format flips, quite a few station sales, some great achievements to be proud about, and perhaps most infamously memorable, the economy’s impact on the entire broadcasting industry. It’s something we used to do more frequently when the site first came back online in 2008… and we’ve kinda let the “stats” postings fall by the wayside recently. But it’s been a pretty busy month here, and we thought it might be interesting to see which stories garnered the most views during September.
