Holly-FM flipping to "Dinosaur" after Christmas?

December 22, 2013 by CNYRadio.com

Updated 12/24 -- SYRACUSE -- There's finally a hint as to what could be happening after Christmas on Holly-FM 95.3 and 103.9.  According to RadioInsight.com, a national radio industry news site, the domain name dinosaurradio.com was registered earlier this month by Holly-FM station manager Sam Furco.

Right now, dinosaurradio.com links to a default GoDaddy placeholder page.  Out of the many stations with which Furco is involved, it's easy to assume where the Dinosaur Radio brand could be headed: there isn't much time left for the Holly-FM format that's been playing Christmas music non-stop since October 5 (except for Halloweenon 103.9 (WNDR-FM/Mexico) and translator 95.3 (W237AY/DeWitt).

But the name doesn't give any clear indication as to the exact format -- and without any official word from station management yet, users on the new RadioInsight Central New York radio message board are debating among a handful of possibilities.  If and when we are able to get anything confirmed, we'll have it here on CNYRadio.com.

UPDATE 12/24 -- Furco has reportedly registered another domain, RealCountry103.com.  The December 21 domain registration was reported by RadioInsight on December 23.  This seems to lend some credence to those who hypothesized that 103.9 and 95.3 might provide FM coverage for co-owned "Real Country 1300" (WOSW Fulton).
