The Syracuse SkyChiefs kick off their 2002 season this afternoon at 2 p.m. against the Rochester Red Wings. Beginning this year, ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS) takes over as the radio broadcast home of the team with Bob McElligott announcing the play-by-play action.

After a ten year run, SportsRadio 620 WHEN has decided not to broadcast Syracuse SkyChiefs games. The team's general manager John Simone wasn't surprised with the decision, saying, "to be on one station for that long is kind of unprecedented."
