We’re pleased to announce (thanks to a tip from @cnyradio Twitter follower @pwdunn) that CNYRadio.com now has a special “mobile version” which should appear automatically when you view the site from a smartphone or tablet. We realize it isn’t a “new” concept, but we had good reason for waiting this long. 
SYRACUSE — Top journalists from Syracuse and surrounding markets gathered for the Syracuse Press Club’s 33rd annual Scholarship and Professional Recognition Awards Dinner last night at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse. Public stations WRVO and WAER dominated the radio categories, while there were plenty of ties for winners in the television categories. 
Three weeks ago, nearly all of the “lost archives” from the original CNYRadio.com (2001-2005) were finally republished here. Today, we’re proud to announce all of the original site’s Picture of the Week images are now once again available for your viewing pleasure.
SYRACUSE — The winners for this year’s Syracuse Press Club awards have been announced. On the radio side, public broadcasters led the pack. In TV, it’s a neck-and-neck race between WSYR-TV and WSTM-TV. And we’re also very happy to report CNYRadio.com appears on the award list as well.
A belated gift from CNYRadio.com following our 10th anniversary earlier this month. It’s also good news for those wishing to explore the history of local radio: almost all of the articles from the “original” CNYRadio.com are back online. In the past, republishing our archives was a slow process, because each article had to be manually imported, one by one. But someone finally created a program to automate the process — so the job is now nearly complete. Welcome to the newly redesigned CNYRadio.com and CNYTVNews.com! Over the past two months or so, your editor has been working behind the scenes to give the site a facelift. Those of you who’ve “liked” our Facebook page have already had the chance to preview the new design while it was under construction. Those of you who have a subscriber login (so you can post comments) will notice the login link in the main menu at the top of the page has been replaced by a new login area in the far-right sidebar. That’s also where you can register for a FREE subscriber account, if you don’t already have one. 
CNYRADIO.COM — For many people, a new year represents a clean slate. Here at CNYRadio.com, your editor is trying to make some improvements to the site in the new year. The changes already started: a new Facebook page launched late in 2010, and work is underway (when the news slows down enough) on a new layout design for the website. Concurrently, I’m doing some housecleaning: after much consideration, I’ve decided to terminate the CNYRadio.com Station Wiki. 
CENTRAL NEW YORK — If you checked out “The Year in Review: 2010,” posted earlier today, you know there were certainly many big stories this year. But which stories were the biggest? Which stories got the most attention from CNYRadio.com readers? As per our tradition, we just checked our server stats to see which stories had the most hits over the past 365 days, and we present to you now, the top 10 stories of 2010.
CENTRAL NEW YORK — When you think of all the station sales and format flips we recapped right here exactly one year ago, we wondered how 2010 would compare with 2009. After all, 2009 was a pretty busy year. But, as we once again review all that happened over the past twelve months… 2010 did a pretty good job in carving out an identity all its own. |
