ITHACA — Progressive Talk 1470 (WNYY) announced today it’s bringing nationally-syndicated hosts Bill Press, Randi Rhodes and Alan Colmes to town. The “Fair and Unbalanced” show at Ithaca’s Hangar Theatre is set for September 24 and tickets will go on sale this Saturday at 10am.

SYRACUSE — Stories in the national trades report a big shakeup at syndicated talk host Michael Smerconish’s home station in Philadelphia — starting in 2011, he’ll be on the air from 3-7pm there. But, his midday talk show will still air live from noon to 3pm, of which the first two hours are carried locally by 105.9 The Big Talker (WXTL).

SYRACUSE — It’s not often that a local radio station can grab the attention of reporters from other media for hours on end. But the clever folks at WSYR managed to do just that back in the early 1990s with a unique billboard promoting the news/talk station. 
Good news for Central New York country music fans who enjoy hearing Bob Kingsley’s weekly countdowns — the host’s contract has been renewed through 2014. 
Former WSYR/WYYY/WBBS Chief Engineer Conrad Trautmann has a new job title. National trades are reporting Trautmann has been named Executive Vice President of Technology at Dial Global/Triton Radio Networks. |
