CORTLAND — SUNY Cortland’s WSUC 90.5, which serves as a part-time simulcast for programming from Oswego’s WRVO, has applied for permission to increase its broadcast power levels. This is the second time the FCC has accepted an application for the change, after the original construction permit filed in 2007 expired last week. [More »]

Updated 9/21 at 7:30pm - UTICA/ROME — The endless stream of music on WUTI 1150 is coming to an end. Owner Bud Williamson told CNYRadio.com late this evening that “1150 will be programmed by Leatherstocking [Media Group] starting tomorrow.” We presume WUTI will carry the same “CNY Talk Radio” lineup as Leatherstocking stations WFBL/Syracuse and WMCR(AM)/Oneida. UTICA/ROME — The mysterious commercial-free music on WUTI now has a name. The 5,000-watt AM station located in Oriskany is now identifying itself as “Ed 1150,” according to a pre-recorded liner which aired between songs earlier this afternoon. [More »]

UTICA-ROME — A little over a week ago, we witnessed the end of the WRUN call letters on 1150 AM, after more than six decades of service. The station was recently purchased by Digital Radio Broadcasting, and the call letters changed to WUTI. UTICA-ROME — The sale of WRUN 1150 from Albany-based Northeast Public Radio to Bud Williamson’s Digital Radio Broadcasting is now official. The deal (first reported in July), which included a swap for another station plus some cash, closed last week.
Updated 12/10 at 10pm with WRUN call letters changed to WUTI.

UTICA — Northeast Public Radio, a multi-station network originating from flagship WAMC/Albany, has reportedly traded away WRUN(AM) for an FM translator in Cooperstown. The deal allows the network to reach more listeners closer to its home base, but it won’t be completely leaving the Mohawk Valley. [More »]
