ITHACA — General Manager Frank Lischak at Z95-5 (WFIZ) says he has a job opening in his sales department. The job posting from Frank reads as follows:
One day after the tragic, unexpected passing of Z95.5 (WFIZ) PD and Morning Co-Host Tommy Frank, the station has decided to promote Assistant PD Justin Wright to the helm.
CNYRadio.com is saddened to report the sudden death of WFIZ (Z95.5) program director and morning co-host Tommy Frank. GM Frank Lischak tells us Frank died early this morning of an apparent heart attack.
Ithaca’s Z95.5 (WFIZ) ended its opening “10,000 commercial free songs in a row” stunt on Wednesday, debuting it’s jock lineup.
One tiny detail the insiders at WFIZ forgot to mention when they notified us about the station launch last week — they haven’t yet hired the jocks that’ll be taking to the airwaves after their 10,000-song non-stop music marathon is over.
There’s a new sound on the air in the Ithaca-Cortland market. At 95.5, the country format and WFLR-FM call letters are gone. The new call letters are WFIZ, and they’re playing 10,000 CHR songs in a row to kick in the new “Z95.5, Ithaca’s Hit Music Channel.” |
