SYRACUSE — Longtime NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) anchor Rod Wood and former longtime WSYR radio talk show host Jim Reith were among many local and national broadcasters to receive write-in votes in Onondaga County this past Election Day. Other names to receive votes include TK99 morning co-host Glenn “Gomez” Adams, and national TV stars like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — During one of his national tour appearances over the weekend, Glenn Beck told fans he has been diagnosed with macular distrophy, a disease that could cost the syndicated talk show host his vision. Beck’s syndicated show has affiliates in all four markets of CNYRadio.com’s coverage area. 
UTICA-ROME — After four months of “auditioning” his weekend show, Newsradio 950 WIBX is getting ready to bring Glenn Beck into the Mohawk Valley every weekday morning. In a roundabout way, Beck will be replacing Bill O’Reilly.
Talk show host Glenn Beck will be in the Syracuse suburb of DeWitt on November 15th, as part of his “Helicopter Tour” to visit 50 cities in six weeks. He’ll be signing copies of his newest book, The Christmas Sweater.
Nothing yet on their website or sent out to their E-Mail Club, but Utica-Rome’s Newsradio 950 WIBX is reportedly adding “The Glenn Beck Weekend” to its lineup.
Glenn Beck’s familiar greeting, “hello…. ya sick, twisted freaks!” will soon be heard every morning in the Ithaca-Cortland market. Saga news/talker WHCU 870 is adding the popular radio and TV host to its weekday lineup, effective September 2. 
A former WSYR employee tells CNYRadio.com that the Clear Channel news/talker has dropped legendary broadcaster Paul Harvey from their daily lineup. He also appears to be missing from the station’s website. (If you go to www.570wsyr.com and hover your mouse over “Shows” in the menu, Harvey’s name is gone.)
Dates for radio and TV talk show host Glenn Beck’s “Summer Political Tour ’08″ have been announced, and Syracuse is one of just 8 cities on the list. 
When WFBL flips formats from news/talk to oldies on Monday, at least one of its syndicated hosts will remain on the air in Syracuse. Newsradio 570 WSYR is running on-air promos stating it will begin carrying ”The Savage Nation” with Michael Savage on Monday evening. |
