SYRACUSE — Former WSYR radio news anchor Eric Reinhardt is returning to radio full-time. After spending the last 3 years working for the Central New York Business Journal (and voicing “Business Briefs from the Central New York Business Journal” for WSYR), Reinhardt will join the news team at Buffalo’s WBEN this Monday. Earlier this week, some former colleagues gathered to bid Eric farewell.

SYRACUSE — Top journalists from Syracuse and surrounding markets gathered for the Syracuse Press Club’s 33rd annual Scholarship and Professional Recognition Awards Dinner last night at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse. Public stations WRVO and WAER dominated the radio categories, while there were plenty of ties for winners in the television categories.
SYRACUSE — Public broadcaster WRVO took home First Place in the “Radio Newscast” category at the Syracuse Press Club awards dinner on Saturday night. The Oswego-based NPR affiliate took home four other first-place awards and a second-place title. Syracuse-based NPR affiliate WAER had the second-longest list of awards, and WSYR took home three titles. Updated 5/18. UPDATED (1:05PM) - The 2008 New York State Broadcasters Association “Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting” have been unveiled. We now have a complete list of winners, and they include stations in all four markets we cover… for a total of 11 radio awards, and at least 2 TV awards for former radio reporters. |
