SYRACUSE — The sudden simulcast change on WSEN(AM) yesterday morning is the first step towards a brand new format at 1050 on the AM dial. That’s what CNYRadio.com has learned this morning from General Manager Judy Kelly, two days after Leatherstocking Media Group has effectively overtaken the Buckley cluster through an LMA.
SYRACUSE — The pricetag on the sale of Buckley Radio’s three-station Syracuse cluster to James V. Johnson’s Leatherstocking Media Group was revealed today. In documents filed with the FCC, the purchase price is listed as $2.1 million.

SYRACUSE (Updated 12:30pm on 3/14) — Buckley Broadcasting GM Judy Kelly now confirms the dismissal of Diane Wade from Classic Hits 92.1 (WSEN) following her air shift Friday. Kelly says “it’s simply a matter of economics” and she hopes conditions improve soon.
SYRACUSE — Less than a year after he was hired as morning host for the new Oldies 1390 (WFBL), Bob Brown has been removed from the shift, but remains on-staff part-time as a substitute. As you may have expected, station management blames the economic climate.
It appears that Buckley’s Classic Hits 92.1 (WSEN) has completed on-air lineup changes, following the exit of former PD/afternoon driver Jim Tate. UPDATED 11/11 with weekend schedule changes.
It appears that Jim Tate is no longer handling afternoon drive duties at Buckley’s WSEN 92.1 in Baldwinsville. A poster on one local message board claims he has exited from the station altogether, but that is not confirmed.
Nope, it’s not another format change. ”Ciao!” is the name of a new Italian-heritage show WFBL is launching this weekend. It’ll be hosted by two good friends of the late Armond Magnarelli, who hosted his own local Italian radio show for 17 years.

Aircheck collectors be on alert! Several sources indicate Buckley Broadcasting’s Syracuse stations, WSEN (92.1 FM / 1050 AM) and WFBL (1390 AM), will be flipping formats this coming Monday. The changes may not seem too dramatic at WSEN, but it’s a pretty big change for WFBL, which will be abandoning its news/talk format.
