Updated 1/27 at 4:00pm -SYRACUSE — It appears that both FM translators that will soon be part of Galaxy Communications’ ESPN Radio affiliation are ready for the change, more than a month in advance. The translator at 97.7FM (W249BC/Mattydale) has switched from simulcasting K-Rock (WKRL) to simulcasting future ESPN Radio anchor WTLA (1200).

SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME — The New ESPN Radio 97.7 and 100.1 FM haven’t even launched yet, but owner Galaxy Communications is announcing some big additions to their programming lineups: namely, coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament this spring and live coverage of New York Giants games next season.
SYRACUSE — Starting in March, there will be a new home for ESPN Radio. Galaxy Communications is not only taking over the network affiliation from Citadel’s WNSS 1260 — the company will be offering ESPN’s programming on the FM band, and it will bring the Spanish-language programming of ESPN Deportes into the market.

SYRACUSE — It’s been two weeks since Brent Axe’s afternoon talk show “On the Block” on ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS) started simulcasting on Time Warner Cable Sports (channel 26 in most areas). If you haven’t had a chance to catch “The Axeman” on TV yet, here’s a look.

SYRACUSE — It’s been a big week for Brent Axe: a day after announcing he’s joining the Buffalo Bills Radio Network’s broadcast team this fall, he revealed his weekday show “On the Block” on ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS) will be simulcast on television starting next week.

SYRACUSE — Brent Axe, host of “On the Block” on ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS) announced on his show shortly after 5:00 this afternoon that he will add hosting duties with the Buffalo Bills Radio Network starting this fall.

Brent Axe and his sports talk show “On the Block” returned to the Syracuse airwaves this afternoon. As we reported earlier, Axe is on the air weekdays from 3-6pm. His show is on Citadel’s ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS). He originally told us today’s launch was not set-in-stone, but any uncertainty is now gone, with the show’s debut moments ago.

Sports talk host Brent Axe will be back on the radio within the next month. Axe e-mailed us with the news today. His show “On the Block,” will make its comeback on Citadel’s ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS) in April.
